Board Members

JC Anderson

Chairman
J.C. has been on the LEF Board as Chairman since 2012. With a number of family members being involved in the teaching/education profession, the LEF provides him an opportunity to “give back” to the educational process that has been so intricate to his family structure. In addition, he wanted to help provide the best possible education for his grandsons who have gone through the Lakeshore school system. J.C. grew up in a small farming community in central Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University (B.S. in Production Management) and Western Michigan University (MBA), and retired from Whirlpool in 2007 as the Senior Vice President of Operations for North America after a 39 year career. J.C. has been involved with Young Life, Well of Grace, Rotary, SCORE Consulting, Advisory Board of First Church of God, Economic Club’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee for the Senior PGA at Harbor Shores, and a Reading Volunteer in Benton Harbor Elementary. In his spare time, J.C. enjoys exercising, playing golf, spending time with family/friends and volunteering.

Lori Marciniak

Vice Chair Projects
Lori is a native of Southwest Michigan and a graduate of Michigan Technological University. After 27 years in the engineering field, she is now the Executive Director of the Curious Kids’ Museum and Curious Kids’ Discovery Zone; which Lori is quick to point out, is the perfect “2nd career”! Lori has 3 children, Kane, Hannah and Amelia, all three Lakeshore graduates. She is honored to be a part of the LEF board and serve as the Vice Chair Projects, and very happy for the opportunity to give back to such a great school district and community. In her spare time Lori loves to be active, volunteer and spend time with her kids.

Andrew Glisson

Vice Chair of Grants

Andrew grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and studied music education at Northwestern University with an emphasis in band and trumpet performance. After college he decided to go into healthcare IT and eventually received his M.S. in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University. He’s been writing cardiology software for two decades.  His wife Adrienne is a native of Southwest Michigan and brought him back home to settle in 2013.  She’s currently the Executive Director of Children’s Music Workshop. They have two wonderful children, Violet and Camille, who attend Hollywood Elementary. Their whole family is involved in local theater, appearing in productions all over Southwest Michigan, and Andrew has served on the board of Twin City Players.

Elizabeth Meeth

Vice Chair Marketing
While not a Lakeshore alumna, Elizabeth is no stranger to the Sunset Coast. The Detroit native grew up coming to the Lakeshore community to visit close relatives, who also happen to be Lakeshore grads! It was no wonder that when given the option relocate, Elizabeth, her husband Jay, and their two children jumped at the chance. Elizabeth graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and spent the better part of her career working as a News Anchor and Medical Reporter in various markets throughout Michigan and Illinois. She transitioned her love for storytelling into starting her own marketing business, Rip Current Creative. Elizabeth has been dedicated to many causes, like the March of Dimes, and American Lung Association –  but none has struck as close to home as the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation. Elizabeth remains committed to supporting the organization’s mission, so her children, and others like them, receive an education that helps them thrive for years to come.

Himanshu Ganjoo

Vice Chair of Fund Development

Himanshu Ganjoo is a Commercial Banker at 1st Source Bank, where he leverages his extensive education in Marketing and International Business, holding both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in these fields. His professional journey has been marked by a commitment to excellence and a deep understanding of the financial sector.

For nearly 12 years, Himanshu has called Southwest Michigan home. He lives here with his wife, Sucheta, and their two daughters, Aadhya and Mishka. Aadhya, who is enthusiastic about starting middle school this September, is looking forward to new academic challenges and opportunities. Mishka, on the other hand, is currently attending Eddy’s, where she enjoys a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Sucheta’s career with Whirlpool was the reason for their move to Southwest Michigan. Her role at the company has been instrumental in their decision to settle in this vibrant community.

One of the key reasons they chose Lakeshore for their home is the strong sense of community support and the rich academic traditions that the area offers. Stevensville, with its excellent schools and community spirit, has proven to be an ideal place for them to raise their family. The combination of professional opportunities, educational excellence, and a supportive community makes Southwest Michigan a wonderful place for the family to thrive.

Jim Roberts

Vice Chair of D.E.I.
Jim is the CEO of Jim Roberts Enterprises LLC and Jim Roberts Investment Advisors LLC. He is also co-owner of the Lake Company LLC.  Jim has a civil engineering degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Michigan State University.  At Michigan he served as President of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Engineering Council, President of the Engineering class of 1983, and was also inducted into the Vulcan’s.  Michigan State University selected Jim as a Distinguished Executive MBA Alumnus.  He has served on several boards and has won many regional and national business awards. His daughter (Morgan) and son (Connor) both attended Roosevelt Elementary, Lakeshore Middle School and Lakeshore High School.  The LEF is pleased to have Jim serving on the Fund Development Committee.

Rebecca Hirschboeck

Treasurer
Rebecca grew up in a suburb of Chicago and fondly remembers spending her summers in southwest Michigan. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in French and Business Administration and from the University of Illinois at Chicago with an M.B.A. in Entrepreneurship and an M.S. in Accounting. Rebecca moved to the area in 2016 after accepting a treasury role at Whirlpool. She is currently the Assistant Treasurer at Minneapolis-based Solventum Corporation, working remotely from home. She has three children in the Lakeshore School District, which fuels her desire to give back to the community and help the school district provide a best-in-class educational experience for all Lakeshore students and families. In her spare time, Rebecca loves spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors, and testing her amateur photography skills.

Lori Hellenga

Secretary
Lori is a graduate of Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts where she earned her BS in nursing. She then spent 40 years working in the emergency departments of Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor, and Lakeland in St. Joseph. She has been an active member of the community, currently serving several organizations including Lakeshore Band Parents, Therapeutic Equestrian Center, and First Congregational Church of St. Joseph.  She also has her own equine massage business, Northway Equine Sportsmassage. She is married to her husband of 30 years, DeWayne, and has two children who are both Lakeshore graduates. Her son is currently a band instructor in the Lakeshore district. Her daughter is an English teacher in the Novi area, and currently a stay-at-home mom. In her free time, Lori loves spending time with her three grandchildren, being at the barn with her horses, gardening, and playing pickleball.

Leslie Arbanas

Trustee
Leslie is a proud graduate of Lakeshore High School and grew up here in Stevensville. She attended Lake Michigan College where she obtained an Associate Degree of Applied Science specializing in Radiologic Technology. After working in Grand Rapids at Spectrum Health and then going back to college to specialize in Ultrasound, Leslie has been working as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for over 20 years. After having worked as a traveling technologist for some years and had the chance to see different parts of the country, she knew without a doubt where she wanted to settle down and start her family, right here in southwest Michigan.

Leslie had the opportunity to serve as secretary with the Hollywood PTO during her daughters’ elementary years giving her an even greater appreciation for the education system and realize how grateful she is of the dedicated staff and support system within the Lakeshore community. The LEF has helped fund multiple learning opportunities, one of which Leslie’s daughters was lucky enough to be a part of, “The Leader in Me” program at Hollywood Elementary. This program teaches leadership skills as well as instilling good habits at early ages. Leslie believes in the work of this foundation and its commitment to education; she is honored to be invited onto the LEF board and hopes to make an impact towards providing the best possible education for all lakeshore students.

Leslie and her husband Joel, an AEP electrician and Baroda volunteer firefighter, along with their two daughters, Chloe and Josie (both Lakeshore High students), enjoy living a bit of the country life on their five acres in Baroda. You can usually find Leslie on the sidelines of her daughter’s tennis or volleyball matches or appreciating the beautiful area she lives in, whether it be gardening, hiking, biking, or skiing in the winter.

Sophie Bauchet

Trustee
Sophie was born and raised in Paris, France, and moved to the United States to attend Indiana University. She and her husband, Eric, came to this area in 1994 when he began working at Whirlpool. The Bauchets have two children: Stephanie and Maxim, both Lakeshore graduates. For the last 30 years, Sophie has been an active volunteer in several different areas including Lakeland hospital, the YMCA, Stewart PTO, Lakeshore Middle school PTO, the Lakeshore Band as well as the Benton Harbor Boys and Girls Club. For fun, she loves traveling, reading and being by (or on) the water. 

Kate Beckrow

Trustee
Kate grew up in Berrien Springs and graduated from Michigan State University (MSU) with a BSN and a MS in Epidemiology. She served as the Project Coordinator for a federally funded breast cancer study at MSU for many years, and as Executive Director of an oncology practice. Kate and her husband, Jason, relocated to Stevensville in 2009 to be closer to family. Their two children, Justin and Caroline, are both graduates of Lakeshore and now attend Kalamazoo College and MSU. Kate has been on the LEF board since 2012 and is so grateful for the wonderful education and opportunities that Lakeshore provides for our community.  In her spare time, Kate enjoys being involved in many activities and giving back to the community through her involvement with several local organizations.

Kelly Bushu

Trustee
Kelly grew up in a suburb of Chicago, moved to Michigan in 1994, and to the Lakeshore school district in 2001. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with her bachelor’s degree. Kelly and her Husband Kevin (current Lakeshore School Board Trustee) have four sons who are all Lakeshore graduates. Joshua and Jacob both went on to receive degrees from Grand Valley State University. Joshua now works in sales and lives in Grand Rapids, and Jacob is currently a third-grade teacher at Hollywood Elementary School and is an Assistant Varsity Coach for Lakeshore Football. Son #3, Justin, played basketball for and graduated from KVCC with his associate degree and plans to continue his education and basketball career at a four-year university next year. The baby, Jackson, a 2023 LHS graduate, is currently playing basketball for and attending KVCC this year. Kelly is a Mary Kay Sales Director, she worked for Head Start when she first moved to Michigan, ran the pre-school at the YMCA for several years, and most recently worked for Immanuel Lutheran Pre-school in Bridgman. During her sons’ time at Lakeshore, Kelly served on the PTO board at Hollywood Elementary, captained a Relay For Life team for 10 years along with serving on the organizational committee for the American Cancer Society, ran the concession stand at LYBSA for many years, and served as food coordinator along with many other roles for the Lakeshore Football and Basketball boosters. After over 20 years of volunteering for school activities her children were involved in, Kelly is now very excited to give back to the community by getting involved with LEF.

Chad Deja

Trustee
Chad has been an LEF trustee since 2008. He is a Lakeshore alumnus and wanted to continue to support Lakeshore in any way possible. After graduating from Lakeshore, Chad attended and graduated from Michigan State University. Chad and his wife, Lori, (also a Lakeshore alumnus) have two children currently in the Lakeshore School System and one child who is a 2022 graduate of Lakeshore. Chad is Branch Manager for Schultz Roofing Supply in St. Joseph. He likes spending time with his family, coaching, family vacations, hunting, fishing, and golfing. Chad is currently serving as the Lakeshore Alumni Association President.

Tim Dyer

Trustee
Tim Dyer is the area’s Commercial Lending Group Manager for United Federal Credit Union. A native of West Michigan, Tim earned his degree from Hope College. Since relocating to the area in 2015, Tim has been committed to community engagement, actively contributing to various boards and committees. Notably, he has served on the Cornerstone Alliance Board, the Southwest Michigan Regional Airport Authority Board, and the Cornerstone Young Professionals Executive Committee. He and his wife, Larisa, and their family have settled in the Stevensville area and look forward to increased involvement in the Lakeshore community as their children begin their educational journeys. Tim’s commitment to community service and understanding of the importance of education make him both honored and excited to serve the LEF.  

Greg Eding

Trustee
Greg Eding began as Superintendent of Lakeshore Schools in 2021, coming into Lakeshore with 21 years of experience in school administration.  The most recent experience having served for five years as Principal of Zeeland West High School.  Greg holds an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) Degree from the University of Michigan, Master’s Degree (MA) from Western Michigan University, and Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Hope College.

Greg and his wife, Erica have four children.  Gerrit is a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University and is currently working as an Assistant Baseball Coach for Saginaw Valley State.  Rileigh is a graduate of Albion College and is currently in the Doctoral program for Physical Therapy at Grand Valley State University.  Evan is a student at the University of Detroit Mercy, studying mechanical engineering.  And Audra is a student at Hope College, studying elementary education.

Josh Frazee

Trustee
Josh Frazee is a lifelong Southwest Michigan resident and a proud graduate of Bridgman High School. Josh and his wife, Cassie, are both licensed Real Estate Brokers and own and operate The Shore Real Estate Group, located on John Beers Road in Stevensville. Their family is deeply connected to the Lakeshore community; their children attend Hollywood Elementary, where Cassie also serves as the PTO President.

Community involvement and giving back are extremely important to Josh and his family. He believes strong schools are a foundation of a strong community and he is honored to serve on the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation Board, helping support opportunities for Lakeshore students, teachers, and families. In addition to LEF, Josh serves on the boards of Berrien County Cancer Service and The Real Help Foundation.

Josh is passionate about Southwest Michigan and believes that investing time, energy, and resources into the community today creates a stronger future for the next generation. Outside of real estate and community involvement, Josh’s favorite role is being a husband and dad. In his spare time, he enjoys driving his golf cart
around the neighborhood, traveling, and spending time with Cassie and their three daughters, Ella, Nora, & Layla.

Janine Harrison

Trustee
After graduating from Michigan State University in 1988, Janine began a 30-year career in education. She taught first and third grade at Stewart Elementary and spent six years coaching the girls’ varsity tennis team. During her time at Lakeshore, she completed her Masters in Education at Western Michigan University.

She has played an active role in the community over the years volunteering on committees such as Relay for Life, March of Dimes, Lake Michigan College Winners Circle Auction, and the United Way. Janine and her husband Bob have two children, who both graduated from Lakeshore High School. Janine enjoys playing tennis, gardening, walking their family dog (Izzo), and spending time with family and friends.

Alaina Kinney

Trustee
Alaina grew up near Kalamazoo, MI . She earned a BA in Secondary Education from Michigan State University and a MA in Educational Leadership K-12 Administration from Western Michigan University. Alaina was lucky enough to be hired at Lakeshore right out of college in 2006 and has been here ever since. She has taught a variety of courses in the English Department as well as spent a brief time teaching US and World History. At Lakeshore, Alaina has been a volleyball coach and class advisor, and is currently the advisor for the National Honor Society and Prism. She also serves on the Building Leadership Team and is the Association Representative for the Lakeshore Educational Association. During the school year of 2013-2014, Alaina was selected for the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program and spent the year teaching English to 6-12 grade students in Békés, Hungary. Alaina has a small farm with goats, horses, chickens, dogs, and a barn cat that keeps her busy outside of school. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and traveling. She is excited and honored to be a part of the LEF as she has seen first-hand the enormous positive impact it has on the students of Lakeshore Public Schools.

Chris Mason

Trustee
Chris joined the LEF Board to help drive local educational excellence and support the vibrant community where he lives and works. As a proud 2008 Lakeshore graduate, serving on the board provides him a meaningful way to leverage his leadership experience to directly impact the local school system and give back to the Lakeshore community. Chris is a Co-Founder of Watermark Brewing Company, Solarium, and Depths Society Golf, and has served as an elected Trustee for the Village of Stevensville since 2016. He graduated from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Communications & Consumer Behavior. Deeply involved in regional leadership, Chris serves on the Government Affairs Committees for both the Michigan Brewer’s Guild and the SWM Regional Chamber. His extensive philanthropic initiatives include organizing major local fundraising events like the SWM Polar Plunge and the Watermark Golf Classic, which benefit numerous regional nonprofits.

Sterling Massey

Trustee
Sterling was born and raised in MI. He worked as a Social Worker, Family Therapist and Agency Director in the Behavioral Sciences field for 14 years before becoming a small business owner.   In 2009 Sterling founded Massey State Farm Insurance. He currently works in executive field leadership for State Farm. He moved to the lakeshore for work and immediately fell in love with the community. Sterling has served on many boards and service committees during his career, Including The Oakdale Neighbors Association, Lowell Community Foundation, Flat River Outreach Ministries and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce Minority Council. Sterling is excited to contribute time and talent to LEF’s  mission.

Andrew Robinson

Trustee
Andrew Robinson serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Mosaic CCCDA, a faith-based non-profit program. In this capacity, Andrew provides visionary leadership and administrative oversight to Mosaic Opportunity (job training/development division) and Mosaic Network of Services (a group of educational initiatives and community programs)  in addition to its three social enterprises:  Mosaic Resale Shop, Mosaic Cleaning Services, and Mosaic Administrative Support Services. Also, he has launched an entrepreneurial support organization (The Emerge Innovation Hub), in partnership with Whirlpool Corporation, to foster the growth of small businesses/enterprises in Southwest Michigan.

Bill Scaletta

Trustee, Lakeshore Board of Education Representative

After graduating from Michigan State University, Bill Scaletta began a 39-year career in education. During those years, he was a teacher, counselor, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, and principal in Muskegon, Manchester and Marcellus. During that time, he completed his Masters in Education at Western Michigan University. In 1991 Bill became the principal of Lakeshore High School where he stayed until his retirement in 2011. He was President of the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals in 2002-2003 and served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Secondary School Principals from 2008-2012. He was also Board Liaison for the National Association of Student Councils in 2011-2012. Bill is a former treasurer of the Marcellus Community Foundation and Past President of the Lakeshore Rotary and Advisor for the Rotary Interact Club. Bill also serves as a Trustee on the Lakeshore Board of Education and is the Board liaison for LEF. He and his wife, Linda, have three children (Dana Mikel, Jennifer and Derek), three grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters.

Lewis Scott

Trustee
Lewis C. Scott is the vice-president, senior community development officer with Horizon Bank located in Michigan City, IN.

Prior to joining Horizon Bank, Lewis worked at Allstate Insurance Company for five years and worked at American Express Corporation for four and half years leading a team of B2B sales professionals in the very competitive payment solution industry.

Lewis spent 20 years with the FCA Corporation. While at Chrysler, he held various sales leadership positions in an assortment of different locations all over the country.

Lewis earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and earned an undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University in Business Communication and Marketing. In addition to his studies, Lewis played basketball for Eastern Michigan University throughout his four years as an undergraduate.

Lewis resides in St. Joseph, Michigan. He was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan where he still refers to as home, despite relocating several times throughout his corporate career. Lewis is the father of three children, two girls, and one boy. His oldest daughter, Lauren Scott, attended Michigan State University, his middle child, Lindsay Scott, attended Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. The youngest child, Nathan Scott, is a graduate student athlete attending Eastern Michigan University.

Tina Vaught

Trustee
Tina grew up in Southwest Michigan and is an alumnus of Lakeshore High School. She also attended Lake Michigan College to go to earn a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Tina and her husband Tom, have two grandchildren that are just starting their schooling careers at Lakeshore Public Schools, attending Roosevelt Elementary.

Tina enjoyed an 18-year career at Whirlpool Corporation, working in Finance and Human Resources. She then moved into the banking world where she spent four years as a Branch Manager for 5/3 bank for four years. Currently, she is Branch Manager III, Group Leader SWMI with United Federal Credit Union.

Tina plays an active role in the community serving on the Lake Michigan College Foundation Board, United Way of Southwest Michigan Board and the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation Board. Tina also serves the community through volunteerism and sponsorship of various activities throughout Southwest Michigan.

Tina and Tom enjoy spending time with family and friends, spending time outside, golfing and anything to do with water sports. Tina is excited to serve on the LEF board not only because she experienced Lakeshore Public Schools as a student, but she is also now seeing it through the eyes of her grandchildren. She wants to help make it a great experience for all who attend.

Kimberly Risk

Secretarial Assistant and Data Manager

Kimberly served as an LEF trustee from 2006 to 2016. She enjoys getting to know the passionate people involved with LEF who help Lakeshore students and staff “Reach Higher” in every way. Kimberly grew up in Fort Wayne, IN and went to Homestead High School. She obtained her degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Purdue University and has worked locally in the hotel industry. Kimberly and her husband, Scott, have two daughters who attended Lakeshore Public Schools from Kindergarten all the way through 12th grade and were involved in the outstanding band program. She likes to spend her spare time traveling to historical places and national parks. The Risks love living in this area with excellent schools and the most supportive community they’ve ever known.
