How many high school students get the opportunity to meet famous people on a regular basis?
Lakeshore Excellence Foundation creates that opportunity on a regular basis for our students at Lakeshore High School and other neighboring schools through an ongoing grant. In September, students were able to get up close and personal with former Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, who spoke at the Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan Speaker Series
Turnbull is an interesting guy whose career spans journalism, law, business and politics. He entered the Australian House of Representatives in 2004, then served as the 29th Prime Minister from 2015 to 2018. Throughout his political career, Turnbull has been a strong advocate of environmental issues with a focus on water management and renewable energy.
Students who attended were able to ask The Honorable Malcolm Turnbull questions in a short session before the speech he gave to the larger audience.
